We’re officially in tax season mode but we've been quietly prepping behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly for you. Around here we don’t believe in cramming all the work into February and April and we definitely don’t wait until August to start if we can help it. Instead we pace ourselves throughout the year so our team stays focused sane and not running on caffeine fumes.

Here’s how we do it. We schedule tax return prep into three filing quarters.

Q1 is February through April 30
Q2 is May 1 through July 31
Q3 is August 1 through October 15

We know our capacity so we spread the work accordingly. Not everything can be done at once and that’s a good thing.

Now here’s where you come in.

If you're a new client or your return is new to us this year and we haven’t already discussed timelines , your return at this point has to be scheduled for Q2. That means we’ll file an extension for you.

Extensions aren’t scary. I file them myself every year for both business and personal returns and i have donet his for 20 plus years. What matters is that you pay any taxes due by the deadline to avoid penalties. Filing in July instead of March won’t trigger an audit. Rushing through your return with incomplete info is what raises red flags.

By sticking to this schedule we protect your return from last minute chaos and make sure it gets the attention it deserves.
