Our last session tackled some big tax topics, including:

  • Offsetting Capital Gains – Strategies for reducing tax on 8-figure liquidity events, and when just paying the tax makes sense.

  • Cost Segregation for Single-Family Rentals – Even a $300K property can generate serious tax savings with the right approach.

  • Why Some Investors Can’t Use K-1 Losses – Unlocking passive losses through strategic structuring.

March 17th Tax Deadline Reminder

Next Monday is March 17th, which means if you have a calendar-year 1065 (partnership) or 1120S (S-corp), your tax return is due.

If you haven’t sent us your info yet—don’t panic. If we handled your taxes last year, we’ve already filed an extension for you, giving you until September 15th to file on time.

New to us this year? Our deadline to receive documents for on-time filing was February 28th, so hopefully, you’re all set. If not, I would advise you go get Form 7004 filed as the penalties are $180/K1 per month for being late.

As we’ve mentioned before, we schedule tax work throughout the year to avoid last-minute crunches. We’re wrapping up most of the returns planned for completion by April 30th, but if yours is still outstanding, Andre will be reaching out soon with a reminder.

Not sure if your extension was filed? Need to send documents? Andre, our Client Service Manager, is your go-to. Email him directly at [email protected].

Kevin from The Office

Remember Kevin from The Office? Yeah, that Kevin—the chili-spilling, number-crunching legend. He took my Cameo money and gave our team a shoutout for Employee Appreciation Day. Because nothing says "we value you" like a message from the Accountant of all Accountants himself.

And in case you need a refresher on his real legacy, here’s the infamous chili scene he referenced: Watch Here.

Let’s just hope our interns handle tax season better than he handled that pot.
